About After Sea Aesthetics

After Sea Aesthetics, aka ASA Maui, is the manifestation of inspiration and talents of Kayden Radhe. She pours her passion and creativity into each and every handcrafted item she makes with the intention to make people feel good by blending visual beauty with the essences of nature.

The Tropical Elements line was inspired on her drive home from Lahaina to Kula, by the natural elements that make up Hawaii ~ Rain Forest, Ocean, Island Breeze and Volcano.  She developed these captivating perfumes by blending tropical woods, fruits and flowers which people love to wear as their signature scent.

The delicious tropical fruits found in the Islands were the inspiration for the Tropical Delights line. Organic aloe vera, Vitamin E, and highly nourishing oils make Kayden's lotions the "ideal after-sun skin therapy." Through the powerful sense of smell, each lotion, bath gel, candle and perfume she makes will magically transport you to the Islands with the tropical aromas of Hawaii captured within. Ingredients used in ASA  products are natural, vegan, cruelty-free and paraben-free.

Kayden is extremely passionate about healthy water and our habits concerning water and recently received her calling to create Blue Bottle Love aka These reusable, blue glass water bottles are a synergistic expression of the fascinating work of Dr. Masaru Emoto, Ho'oponopono solar blue water, and making conscientious ecological choices.  In the words of Dr. Emoto, " We have the ability to take an active part in creating our world and this not only gives us power, it gives us responsibility!"  You are invited to join After Sea Aesthetics in making choices which heal ourselves and our planet.

Below are a listing of the most commonly asked questions and answers for those questions. They are listed in categories of Bath & Body, Candles, Blue Bottle Love, Jewelry, and General. If your question is not listed here, please feel free to e-mail us.

Q: Do you use 100% essential oils?
A: We do our best to use them when possible, but we must admit that to achieve some of the tropical scents, it is almost impossible to use 100% essential oils. We use a blend of essential oils and fragrance oils.

Q: What are the names of the all the different scents you make?
A: Rain Forest, Ocean, Island Breeze, Volcano in the Tropical Elements line. Passion Fruit, Orange Vanilla, Vanilla Coconut, Ginger Mango, Cocoa Butter and Aroma Free in the Tropical Delights line.... and we also make Hawaiian scented Tuberose, Maile, Coconut, and Plumeria Beeswax & Soy Candles.

Q: Are there any animal products used?
A: All of the lotions, gels and perfumes are vegan. The candles are made with Hawaiian beeswax.

Q: Will the lotions leave me feeling greasy?
A: Absolutely not... this is one of the strongest points about the lotions, they are "the ultimate moisturizing experience without a hint of greasiness!"

Q: Do you use lead wicks for your candles?
A: No, we use cotton braided wicks.

Q: What are your candles made of and how long do they burn?
A: The candles are made from long burning Hawaiian beeswax blended with soy wax making the travel tins last about 20 hours, the 7 oz candles burn about 35 hours and the 9 oz candle lasts about 45 hours. Usually the whole candle burns down, leaving very little residual wax.

Q: Where are the bottles made?
A: The bottles are created in Italy and the sandblasting is done by our artists here in the USA. We do this to help minimize the transporting of bottles. Once these bottles reach you, they can be reused an unlimited amount of times.

Q: What type of etching process do you use?
A: The bottles are hand sandblasted by gifted artists using special sandblasting equipment to create these beautiful images deep into the glass.

Q: How does sandblasting differ from acid-etching and machine etched bottles?
A: With sandblasting we can achieve a deeper etch which has a remarkably pleasing textile feel, wheras acid-etching only changes the surface texture and the bottle remains smooth. Machine-etched bottles can be quite nice, but we have found that they cannot match the depth and artistry of the hand sandblasting.

Q: What is the cap made of?
A: It is made of BPA-free polypropylene plastic with an attached thermoplastic elastomer seal All bottles on our site come with these caps with our custom logo.

Q: Why do you use a plastic cap?
A: There are several reasons. The bottle producer informed us that now the US bans the use of porcelain caps used in conjunction with recyclable glass bottles as they do not mix well in the recycling process. Of course these bottles will be used over and over in a different sort of recycling process. Porcelain caps are available from China, but we have chosen NOT to use those as we cannot guarantee the quality of the finish. We also discovered that using porcelain caps can be very noisy and "clangy" when opening and closing the bottles.

Q: How do you clean the bottles?
A: These bottles are designed to carry water for the most part. It is a good idea to clean them regularly using either grapefruit seed extract, hydrogen peroxide or white vinegar. Rinse thoroughly. If you have a Water Ionizer, you can use the acidic water to soak the inside of the bottle overnight. It is recommended to clean about 1x per month or so. They can also be put into the dishwasher if desired, after removing the flip-top cap. The design is permanent and will never wash away.

Q: How do you open the cap?
A: The easiest way is to either pull with thumb and forefinger, creating a leverage with the base of forefinger against the bottle or push with two thumbs the two bent-wire connections found on each side of the cap. Do NOT try to pry open the wire that is tightly clasped to the bottle--this can result in broken fingernails and discomfort to the finger. A little practice and you will be opening these bottles easily with one hand! Please see video and images by visiting the "How To Open" section in our blog.

Q: The cap is really tight, will it loosen up with use?
A: Yes, these will loosen up and be easier to use. The bottle will always remain leak-proof as long as the top is lined up in the proper position when closing.

Q: Do you offer replacement caps?
A: Yes, these are available on our Blue Bottle Love store page.

Q: Can I put my blue bottle in the freezer?
A: No!! Please do not put it in the freezer as it will crack! Water expands as it freezes. You can cool off your Solar Blue Water in the refrigerator with no problem.

Q: Are the bottles still made by
A: Yes, they are the same bottles, just with an easier to remember name.  The word symblueology is a term we coined to express the synergy of sym-bols, blue glass and ec-ology. and Blue Bottle Love... one in the same!

Q: What kind of coins are on your Earthstone Pendants?
A: Authentic vintage Chinese coins from the early 1900's.

Q: Can you make the Keystones into a bracelet?
A: No.  They would become too long and they would hit your knees too much when you drive. The use of an elastic cord is not strong enough.

Q: Are the Keystones breakable?
A: Yes, the stones may break if they are dropped on a very hard surface. If this happens to you, repairs can be made by sending your keystone back to ASA PO Box 752 Kula, HI 96790. Use First Class Mail for best rates. Please include a check for $7 for one broken stone and $10 for two broken stones. Include your address and phone number and broken stones for matching purposes.

Q: The string accidentally broke on my Earthstone necklace or Keystone keychain. Would you be able to restring it for me?
A: Yes. Please send $3 for shipping and return the item to:
ASA PO Box 752 Kula, HI 96790

"I have been drinking blue water for about 4 years now. Dr. Vasant Lad, my ayurvedic teacher, had been teaching the healing benefits of blue water for the kidney's. Blue water for babies with jaundice and for cleansing heat from the blood. I had been searching for something more attractive than the old blue bottle's I had scrounged from recycled glass centers. Then on a trip to Maui I found the wonderful bottles and bought the beautiful Ganesh to accent my healing water efforts. Thank you for making such beautiful blue vibrations!"
